369 Hajj pilgrims return home on first flight
A total of 369 pilgrims have returned to the country on the first return flight from Saudi Arabia after completing the sacred Hajj pilgrimage.
On Tuesday (June 10) at 10:54 AM, Saudi Airlines flight ‘SV-3803’ landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. At that time, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB), Air Vice Marshal Md. Manzur Kabir Bhuiyan, welcomed the pilgrims on the boarding bridge of the airport. He greeted the pilgrims on the first return flight with flowers. Representatives from various organizations and officials responsible for Hajj management were also present.
According to CAAB sources, more than 2,500 pilgrims will return on seven other flights today. The return Hajj flights will continue until July 11.
This year, a total of 85,302 devoted Muslim pilgrims from Bangladesh traveled to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. The first Hajj flight departed from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia on April 29. Following that, flights have been operating continuously for nearly a month to transport pilgrims.
The last Hajj flight departed on June 1. During this entire period, a total of 220 Hajj flights were conducted, through which 85,302 pilgrims from Bangladesh went to Saudi Arabia.
It is known that three airlines participated in operating the Hajj flights this year. These are — Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudi Airlines, and Flynas. These airlines will also operate flights on a daily scheduled basis for the return journey.
