39 Bangladeshis deported from US arrive in Dhaka

A total of 39 Bangladeshis, who were deported from the US for staying there illegally, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday morning (August 2). The Immigration Police confirmed the matter.

Earlier, on Friday, the Consular and Welfare Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a notice that 61 Bangladeshi nationals were being sent back on a US military flight. However, only 39 ultimately returned to the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since US President Donald Trump's administration took office, the process of deporting undocumented immigrants has been strengthened. As part of that, Bangladeshi nationals are also being regularly repatriated.
