Students and teachers at educational institutions will be enjoying a three-day holiday. All educational institutions across the country will remain closed on Sunday, April 5, for Easter Sunday, one of the main religious festivals for Christians. This holiday was announced previously.

The two days prior, Friday and Saturday, are weekly holidays. As a result, educational institutions will be closed for three consecutive days.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for online classes at educational institutions to manage the ongoing situation amid the fuel crisis. Discussions on this matter may take place at the cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Education Minister today, Tuesday, March 31, told journalists, "Discussions are ongoing regarding combining online and in-person classes at the school level due to the global fuel crisis."

If the cabinet finalises the decision for online classes, educational institutions may begin online instruction after the three-day holiday ends.

According to Christian belief, on this day, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, triumphed over death and rose again, freeing his followers from sin. On Good Friday, the oppressive Jewish ruling class had unjustly crucified and killed Jesus to preserve their superstitious system of governance.

On the third day after his death, Sunday, he rose from the dead. This Sunday of resurrection is called Easter Sunday.
