4 Bangladeshis killed in Saudi Arabia road crash
Four Bangladeshis, including the driver, have been killed in a road accident while travelling from Taif to Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia. The accident occurred around 2pm local time on Monday, September 7, on the Al-Khurma highway in Taif.
According to local sources and expatriates, all four victims hail from Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet. Two of them have been identified as Karim Uddin and Khalid Miah. The identities of the other two are yet to be confirmed.
The accident occurred when the vehicle lost control on the way to the airport, plunging the Bangladeshi community into mourning. A sombre atmosphere also prevails in the victims' home area.
The Bangladesh Embassy and local consulate officials in Saudi Arabia are making efforts to complete legal formalities and send the bodies back to the country at the earliest.
