4 crude bombs explode in Dhaka, one hurt

Four crude bombs exploded in different parts of Dhaka on Saturday, leaving one person injured.


Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Shah Ali Police Station said that one shopkeeper was injured when a crude bomb exploded in front of Muktijoddha Super Market in Dhaka's Mirpur-1 around 4:30pm.


Assistant Commissioner of Police (Darussalam zone) Emdad Hossain said the victim sustained minor injuries. Police primarily suspect that the bomb was thrown from the third floor of the market.


Apart from this incident, three other crude bombs exploded at different locations in Dhaka within the span of about an hour in the evening.


According to the DMP Traffic Alert Group, an explosion occurred around 8:15pm close to Shantinagar west signal, where a crude bomb hit an advertising billboard beside a banyan tree and exploded.


No casualties were reported.
