4 deaths due to measles symptoms, 1,077 affected in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours till 8am today, 4 more children have died with measles symptoms in the country. During this period, 1,077 children have been affected with measles and measles-like symptoms.

This information was revealed in the measles-related updated report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday afternoon (June 17).

The press release stated that in the last 24 hours, 4 more children have died with measles symptoms. However, no child has died from confirmed measles infection in this period.

With this, a total of 568 children have died with measles symptoms across the country since March 15 till now. Another 93 children have died from confirmed measles. That means a total of 661 children have died with measles and measles-like symptoms during this time.

Additionally, in the last 24 hours, 111 children have been infected with measles, while the number of patients with measles symptoms is 966. During this time, 872 children have been newly admitted to hospitals, and 906 children have been discharged from hospitals.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the total number of suspected measles patients from March 15 to Wednesday is 88,895, and the number of confirmed measles patients is 10,634. Among them, a total of 73,277 patients have been admitted to hospitals, of which 69,688 have already been discharged and returned home.
