4 detained after 2 schoolgirls gang-raped in Satkania
In a shocking incident in Satkania, Chattogram, two schoolgirls were victims of a gang rape, leading to the detain of four suspects on Wednesday evening (May 13).
The victims, students in the eighth and ninth grades, were reportedly intercepted and assaulted by a group of seven individuals in the Shahider Nal area of East Chidaha around 7pm.
Following the attack, the perpetrators held the girls hostage until a police team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Ariful Islam Siddiqui and supported by local residents, conducted a rescue operation at approximately 11pm.
The police have identified the detained suspects as Md. Syed, 15, Md. Manik Islam, 20, Abdur Rahim, 18, and Md. Rakib, 20.
According to Md. Jahangir Alam, the Officer-in-Charge of Satkania Police Station, a formal case is being filed while law enforcement continues to conduct raids to apprehend the three remaining suspects who fled the scene.
