4 including 2 sisters killed in Mymensingh road crash

Four people in an autorickshaw were killed when a sand truck hit them in Gouripur, Mymensingh. Two others were injured.

The incident took place at around 6:30 am on Sunday (March 30) at the Boisakhi intersection of Char Srirampur village in Douhakhla union of the upazila.

The deceased are Kulsuma Khatun (95), wife of Obaidur Rahman of Durbarchar Bhanga village in the same upazila, Dilruba Khatun (40), wife of Manik Mia, and Riti Akhter and Preeti Akhter (7), two daughters of Saiful Islam of Mymensingh city's Natak Gharlen area.

Gouripur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Jamal Uddin confirmed the matter.

He said that the passenger autorickshaw was passing through Char Srirampur village of Douhakhla union of Gouripur upazila in the morning. Around 6:30 am, an auto-rickshaw collided with a sand truck as it approached the Boishakhi intersection. Four people died on the spot. Meanwhile, the people around rescued two of the injured and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Police Camp In-charge Md. Shafiqul Islam said that four bodies were brought to the hospital around 7:30 am. The bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue. In addition, two people named Mahi Akter and Shyamoli are admitted to the hospital in an injured condition.
