4 killed as covered van overturns on private car in Cumilla

Four people were killed on Friday when a covered van overturned onto a moving private car on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

The tragic incident took place around noon at a U-turn near Hotel Noorjahan in Sadar South Upazila, Cumilla.

Khairul Alam, Superintendent of Police of the Cumilla Highway Police, confirmed the accident.

The fire service reported that two units from Chowarabazar Fire Station rushed to the scene after receiving news of the accident. They successfully rescued the victims trapped in the wreckage.

Authorities stated that the incident occurred when a covered van overturned and fell onto a private car. All the victims were passengers in the private car. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.
