4 killed in microbus-pickup-dump truck collision in Habiganj

A collision involving a microbus, pickup truck, and dump truck in Madhabpur of Habiganj, has resulted in the deaths of four people, including a one-year-old child.

The accident occurred around 5:30 am on Wednesday (December 11) in the Barghoria area, near Madhabpur, on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Four other passengers in the microbus were injured in the crash.

The deceased were identified as Raisa, an 11-month-old girl from Rampur village in Bulla Union under Madhabpur upazila; 65-year-old Fazilatunnesa, also from the same village; Riyad Mia from Budanti village in Bijoynagar; and 20-year-old Pavel Mia, the microbus driver from Haripur village of Nasirnagar.

Mohammad Margub Touhid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khatiyata Highway Police, confirmed the matter. He said, "We have seized the three damaged vehicles. However, the drivers of the dump truck and the pickup truck fled the scene after the accident."
