4 minors held over alleged gang sexual assault in Rangamati

Police have arrested four teenagers in Rangamati following allegations of gang sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy. The suspects were detained from the Reserve Bazar area of Rangamati town on Wednesday night (June 3).

According to police sources, the incident took place in the Mosque Colony area of Reserve Bazar. Following a complaint regarding the gang assault of the 12-year-old minor, police conducted a drive and detained Dihan, 13, Md. Kawsar, 14, Md. Tajerul Islam, 15, and Md. Rahat, 15.

Md. Jasim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangamati Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the detention, stating, "A 12-year-old child was subjected to sexual assault by four teenagers in the Reserve Bazar area. Upon receiving the information, we apprehended them and brought them to the police station. The filing of a formal case is currently underway."
