81 AL members detained in operation 'Devil Hunt' in Gazipur

As part of Operation 'Devil Hunt', which is ongoing nationwide, 81 Awami League leaders and activists were detained across five police stations in Gazipur.

Gazipur District Superintendent of Police, Dr. Chowdhury Md. Jaber Sadek, confirmed this on Sunday morning (February 9).

He said, "Eighty-one individuals were detained overnight in the operation, which began the day before. Of these, forty people were arrested across five police stations in Gazipur, while 41 individuals were detained from eight police stations in the metropolis. The detained individuals are reportedly connected to the fascist government."

However, the identities of the detainees have not been revealed yet.

Along with the Gazipur district police, the operation also included personnel from the Gazipur Metropolitan Police, Bangladesh Army, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies.

These agencies have not provided any additional details about the detentions or arrests.
