Forty patients injured in the Milestone School and College plane crash are currently undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. Doctors have confirmed that five of these patients remain in critical condition.
At a press briefing held Friday afternoon at the institute’s emergency department, Director Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin provided an update on the situation. He informed reporters that two students succumbed to their injuries on Friday, raising the death toll further.
Among the 40 admitted patients, five are in intensive care and being closely monitored. Ten patients are categorized under CPR, indicating serious but stable conditions. Another ten are in the post-operative intermediate category, while 15 remain in the general ward.
Dr. Nasir Uddin added that two patients who were previously on life support have shown improvement and can now breathe without assistance. He also mentioned that 4 to 5 patients are expected to be discharged by Saturday.
