4.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Sylhet
Sylhet and surrounding areas experienced a 4.0 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday (February 10) at 5:32pm, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Residents reported feeling tremors in the city and nearby regions, prompting many to evacuate their homes in panic.
The epicenter was identified near Goainghat in Sylhet, approximately 214 kilometers from the Dhaka Seismic Monitoring and Research Center, the department said in a statement signed by Assistant Meteorologist Farzana Sultana.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received. Authorities continue to closely monitor seismic activity in the area.
