403 arrested in 24-hour DMP drive in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 403 people and filed 47 cases during anti-crime operations across the capital in the past 24 hours.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Niaz Mehedi confirmed the information on Monday (September 21).

According to the DMP, 18 people were arrested in Ramna, 28 in Lalbagh, 53 in Wari, 36 in Motijheel, 86 in Tejgaon, 97 in Mirpur, 42 in Gulshan, 41 in Uttara and two by the Detective Branch.

Police also recovered two unexploded cocktails, fragments of exploded cocktails, 1,376 yaba tablets, 340 grams of cannabis, two mobile phones, two motorcycles and Tk 3,800 allegedly linked to drug sales during the operations.

The drives were conducted in different police station areas across Dhaka.

Further legal proceedings against those arrested are underway.
