A total of 41 additional tax commissioners were transferred simultaneously. On Tuesday, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a transfer order through the tax administration, stating that it is to take effect immediately. NBR officials said the transfers are a punitive response to their protests in May and June. They claimed the moves specifically targeted senior-level officers. Reports indicate that the process of transferring and suspending officials at different levels has been ongoing since July. Earlier, on Monday, nine officials were placed under temporary suspension. In total, over the past six weeks, 36 NBR officials and employees, ranging from members to guard-level staff, have been temporarily suspended.

একসঙ্গে ৪১ জন অতিরিক্ত কর কমিশনারকে বদলি করা হয়েছে। মঙ্গলবার জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ডের (এনবিআর) কর প্রশাসন থেকে এক চিঠিতে এই বদলির আদেশ দেয়া হয়। আদেশে অবিলম্বে তা কার্যকর করার কথা বলা হয়েছে। এনবিআর-এর কর্মকর্তারা বলছেন, গত মে ও জুন মাসে তাদের যে আন্দোলন হয়েছিল, এটি তার ফলস্বরূপ একটি শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা। তাদের দাবি, ওই আন্দোলনের জেরে উচ্চপর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তাদের ওপর এই পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হয়েছে। গত জুলাই মাস থেকেই বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তাদের বদলি ও বরখাস্তের প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে বলে জানা যায়। এর আগে সোমবার ৯ জন কর্মকর্তাকে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত করা হয়েছিল। সব মিলিয়ে গত দেড় মাসে এনবিআর সদস্য থেকে প্রহরী পদবি পর্যন্ত মোট ৩৬ জন কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীকে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত করা হয়েছে।
