414 held in DMP drive across Dhaka in 24 hours

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 414 individuals in regular operations across the capital over the past 24 hours. During this period, 47 cases were filed.

DMP ADC (Media) Niaz Mehedi said on Friday, August 7, that among the 414 arrested, 27 were from Ramna Division, 22 from Lalbagh Division, 48 from Wari Division, 72 from Motijheel Division, 45 from Tejgaon Division, 112 from Mirpur Division, 35 from Gulshan Division and 53 from Uttara Division.

From the arrestees, police recovered one foreign revolver, three rounds of bullets, 30 kg 540 grams of cannabis, 10,287 yaba tablets, 18 pethidine injection syringes, 24 pethidine syringe needles, eight foil papers used for taking yaba, two gas lighters used for taking yaba, two bottle caps used for taking yaba, 4,022 packs of cigarettes, 13 mobile phones, five banned leaflets, two cards, one old book, one notebook, counterfeit notes worth Tk 50,000, one chillum (cannabis pipe), one victim, one truck, one private car, two CNG vehicles and 30 tranquiliser anti-venom tablets.
