Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 430 platoons across the country to ensure security during Durga Puja, the largest Hindu religious festival in Bangladesh.
According to a BGB press release issued Saturday (September 27), 2,857 Puja mondops—including 1,411 in border and hill areas—are under BGB protection. Outside border zones, key deployments include 441 mondops in Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur, and 694 in Chattogram and nearby areas.
To maintain peace in sensitive regions, 24 temporary base camps have been established, with intensified intelligence surveillance and special patrols ongoing in border zones.
BGB affirmed its commitment to coordinate closely with local administration and law enforcement to ensure uninterrupted, peaceful celebrations nationwide.
