439 arrested, 31 cases filed in DMP raids in 24 hours

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 439 people in raids in various police station areas of the capital in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 31 cases were filed.

Deputy Commissioner of DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, Md Aktar Hossain, conveyed this information on Thursday, October 1.

Md Aktar Hossain said that among the arrested, Ramna division arrested 28, Lalbagh division 57, Wari division 37, Motijheel division 55, Tejgaon division 79, Mirpur division 96, Gulshan division 28, Uttara division 38, Detective Branch 20 and CTTC one.

During the raids, 152 kilograms 150 grams of cannabis, 7,028 Yaba tablets and 175 grams of heroin were recovered. Additionally, 13 mobile phones, a motorcycle, a dagger, a ramda, a cleaver, two Swiss gear knives, a microbus and a private car were recovered.

The DMP official further said the process of taking subsequent legal action against those arrested in the raids is underway.
