490 arrested across Dhaka in 24hrs

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 490 people in raids across the capital over the past 24 hours and filed 42 cases.

According to a DMP press release, the arrests were made across eight police divisions, with Mirpur recording the highest number at 123, followed by Tejgaon with 92, Motijheel with 62, Wari with 57, Lalbagh with 52, Gulshan with 40, Ramna with 39 and Uttara with 25.

Police seized 15 mobile phones, two auto-rickshaws, a private car, a rear side pillar cover, a sewing wrench, and 3,305 taka in cash. One victim was also recovered during the operations.

The raids were conducted in different police station areas of the capital, leading to the recovery of various pieces of evidence and narcotics, the statement said.

Further legal action against the arrested individuals was underway.
