5 Bangladeshis pushed in through Barlekha border
The Border Security Force (BSF) pushed back five Bangladeshis through the Kumarshail area of the Latu border in Barlekha upazila. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained the individuals and is currently interrogating them.
According to the BGB’s 52nd Battalion in Sylhet, the group—comprising four men and one woman—was found wandering in the Kumarshail border area early Friday morning, July 25. During questioning, they revealed they had entered India illegally within the past week via border areas in Brahmanbaria, Jashore, Mymensingh, and Moulvibazar districts, seeking work.
However, the BSF detained them and pushed them in through the Barlekha Kumarshail border late Thursday night. The detainees are reportedly residents of Munshiganj, Moulvibazar, Narayanganj, and Rajshahi districts. The BGB is verifying their identities and will take appropriate legal action.
