Five bodies have been recovered from an anchored ship in Meghna River in Chandpur.&nbsp;Apart from this, 3 more people were rescued in critical condition. The identities of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately. It is not yet also confirmed how they died.&nbsp; Bangladesh Coast Guard Staff Officer (Dhaka Zone) Lt. Col. Shams confirmed this information to the media. Chandpur Naval Police Superintendent Syed Moshfiqur Rahman said the law enforcers have received a news that several bodies were found inside an anchored ship named MV Al-Bakhera around 1pm on Monday. 'We fear that more bodies are there but we are not sure about the number right now,' he added. Coast Guard and police members are on their way to the scene.

চাঁদপুরের মেঘনা নদীতে নোঙর করা একটি জাহাজ থেকে ৫ জনের মরদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া গুরুত্বর আহত অবস্থায় তিনজনকে উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।&nbsp; উদ্ধারকৃতদের পরিচয় এখনও নিশ্চিত করা যায়নি এবং কীভাবে তারা মারা গেছেন, তা-ও জানা যায়নি। বাংলাদেশ কোস্ট গার্ডের (ঢাকা জোন) স্টাফ অফিসার লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল শামস গণমাধ্যমকে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন। চাঁদপুর নৌ-পুলিশের সুপারিনটেনডেন্ট সৈয়দ মশফিকুর রহমান জানান, সোমবার দুপুর ১টার দিকে এমভি আল-বাখেরা নামের একটি নোঙর করা জাহাজে একাধিক মরদেহ থাকার খবর পান আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর সদস্যরা। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা আশঙ্কা করছি আরও মরদেহ সেখানে থাকতে পারে, তবে সঠিক সংখ্যা এখনই নিশ্চিত নয়।’ কোস্ট গার্ড এবং পুলিশ সদস্যরা ঘটনাস্থলের দিকে যাচ্ছেন।
