5 detained for vandalising DU bus in Uttara

Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the vandalism of a Dhaka University (DU) bus in Dhaka’s Uttara area, police confirmed on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Azampur area, where a group attacked the university bus, leaving a DU student, the driver, and several others injured. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

“We conducted an overnight operation and arrested five suspects who were confirmed to be at the scene during the attack,” said Saddam Hussain, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Uttara Zone).

He added that many of those involved were local miscreants, and the five arrested are believed to have directly participated in the violence.

A case has been filed against 50 to 60 unidentified individuals in connection with the incident.
