5 Eid jamaats to be held at Baitul Mukarram
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will host five consecutive Eid prayers, according to a press release from the Islamic Foundation on Tuesday, June 3.
Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated nationwide on Saturday, June 7, corresponding to the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, 1446 Hijri. Following tradition, the national mosque will hold five separate prayers throughout the morning, led by renowned Islamic scholars and officials from the Islamic Foundation.
The message, signed by Assistant Public Relations Officer Shayla Sharmin, states that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated nationwide on the upcoming 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah (1446 Hijri) and June 7 (Saturday). As every year, five prayers will be held in succession at the national mosque. The prayers will be conducted under the supervision of the Islamic Foundation and renowned scholars of the country.
The first prayer will be held at 7:00 AM, led by Imam Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani, principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa in Jatrabari. The Muqabbir (caller to prayer) will be Md. Abdul Hadi, a servant of the Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
The second prayer will be held at 8:00 AM, with Imam Dr. Maulana Abu Saleh Patwari, a mufassir (Quranic exegete) of the Islamic Foundation, leading the prayer. The Muqabbir will be Md. Nasir Ullah.
The third prayer will be held at 9:00 AM, led by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Secretary of the Translation and Compilation Department of the Islamic Foundation. Md. Billal Hossain will serve as the Muqabbir.
The fourth prayer will take place at 10:00 AM, led by Mufti Md. Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation. The Muqabbir will be Md. Amir Hossain.
The fifth and final prayer will be held at 10:45 AM. It will be led by Maulana Mohammad Noor Uddin, language teacher of the Religious Dawah and Culture Department of the Islamic Foundation. The Muqabbir will be Md. Zahirul Islam.
The press release also states that if the designated Imam is absent at any prayer, the Assistant Librarian of the Islamic Foundation, Maulana Md. Shahidul Islam, will serve as the alternate Imam. Additionally, Md. Ruhul Amin will serve as the alternate Muqabbir.
