5 more children die with measles symptoms in 24 hours, 129 new cases detected
Five more children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. However, no confirmed measles deaths were reported during this period.
The latest report published on the Directorate General of Health Services website on Wednesday, April 22, provided this information. The report covers data from 8:00 am on Tuesday to 8:00 am on Wednesday.
According to the health directorate, 129 new confirmed measles cases were identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed measles patients since March 15 now stands at 3,934.
In the last 24 hours, 1,229 people showed measles-like symptoms across the country. The total number of suspected measles patients since March 15 has reached 27,164.
During the same period, the death toll from confirmed measles stands at 38, while 190 people have died with suspected measles symptoms.
Since March 15, a total of 17,998 people have been hospitalised with suspected measles, and 14,892 have been discharged after recovery.
