In the last 24 hours, Bangladesh has reported five new deaths due to COVID-19, along with 36 new confirmed cases. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) update on Sunday, June 22, a total of 621 samples were tested nationwide, with 36 testing positive for the coronavirus. Among the five deceased, four were men and one was a woman. Three deaths occurred in Chattogram, while one each was reported in Dhaka and Rajshahi. Since January 1, 2025, the DGHS has tested 5,598 samples, identifying 433 COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths during this period. With the latest cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh since the pandemic began has reached 2,051,978, while the death toll stands at 29,515.

দেশে করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়ে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় আরও পাঁচজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ সময়ে নতুন করে আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন ৩৬ জন। রোববার (২২ জুন) স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের করোনাবিষয়ক নিয়মিত সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সারাদেশে ৬২১টি নমুনা পরীক্ষা করা হয়। এতে ৩৬ জনের শরীরে করোনাভাইরাস শনাক্ত হয়। মারা যাওয়া পাঁচজনের মধ্যে চারজন পুরুষ এবং একজন নারী। তাদের মধ্যে চট্টগ্রামে তিনজন এবং ঢাকা ও রাজশাহীতে একজন করে মারা গেছেন। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তর জানায়, চলতি বছরের ১ জানুয়ারি থেকে ২২ জুন পর্যন্ত ৫ হাজার ৫৯৮টি নমুনা পরীক্ষা করে ৪৩৩ জনের করোনা শনাক্ত হয়েছে। একই সময়ে করোনায় মারা গেছেন ১৬ জন। নতুন ৩৬ জন শনাক্তের মধ্য দিয়ে মহামারির শুরু থেকে দেশে মোট করোনা আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ২০ লাখ ৫১ হাজার ৯৭৮ জনে। আর ৫ জনের মৃত্যুসহ মোট মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৯ হাজার ৫১৫ জন।
