Five more people have died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 1,484 people were admitted to hospital. According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday, 176 people have died of dengue in the country so far this year. A total of 58,400 people have been hospitalised during this period. In the last 24 hours, four dengue patients died in the Dhaka North City Corporation area and one in Rangpur division. Among the deceased, two were men and three were women. Earlier on Wednesday, a record 1,753 dengue patients were hospitalised in a single day. At least seven people died that day.

দেশে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ডেঙ্গু আক্রান্ত হয়ে আরও পাঁচজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। একই সময়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছেন ১ হাজার ৪৮৪ জন। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের বৃহস্পতিবারের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, চলতি বছর দেশে ডেঙ্গুতে এ পর্যন্ত ১৭৬ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ সময়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হয়েছেন মোট ৫৮ হাজার ৪০০ জন। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশন এলাকায় চারজন এবং রংপুর বিভাগে একজন ডেঙ্গু রোগী মারা গেছেন। মৃতদের মধ্যে দুজন পুরুষ ও তিনজন নারী। এর আগে বুধবার এক দিনে রেকর্ড ১ হাজার ৭৫৩ জন ডেঙ্গু রোগী হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন। ওই দিন মারা যান অন্তত সাতজন।
