5 more die of dengue

Five people died of dengue in the 24 hours from 8 am on Saturday to 8 am on Sunday. During the same period, 387 people were admitted to hospitals due to dengue, increasing the number of deaths from dengue this year to 409. A total of 1,477 people have been admitted to hospitals due to the disease.

This information was given in a press release on dengue sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (December 14).

The release said that of the five people who died of dengue in the last 24 hours, two are residents of Barisal division, two of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

At this time, 40 people were newly infected in Barisal Division (outside the City Corporation), 83 in Dhaka Division (outside the City Corporation), 53 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 55 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 71 in Chittagong Division (outside the City Corporation), 33 in Khulna Division (outside the City Corporation), 26 in Mymensingh Division (outside the City Corporation), 22 in Rajshahi Division (outside the City Corporation) and 4 in Sylhet Division.

The Department of Health also said that in the last year, 101,214 people were hospitalized due to dengue and 575 people died of dengue that year.
