5 more die of measles symptoms, 1,232 new cases

Five more people have died of measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, of whom three died in Dhaka. In the same period, 1,149 people have newly developed measles symptoms, while another 83 have been confirmed to have measles through testing.

This information was given in the Directorate General of Health Services' regular report on the measles situation on Sunday.

According to the report, 839 children have died of measles symptoms since March 15, while 99 children have died of confirmed measles during the same period. Combining symptomatic and confirmed measles deaths, the number of deaths during this time stands at 938.

With the 83 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, a total of 18,487 people have been confirmed with measles across the country since March 15.

Meanwhile, 1,149 more people have developed measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people affected with measles symptoms since March 15 to 1,50,652.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 1,31,664 people have been hospitalized with measles symptoms during this period, of whom 1,26,921 have recovered with treatment and been discharged from hospital.
