5 of a family burnt in Narayanganj gas explosion

A gas line explosion in the BSCIC area of Sonargaon upazila, Narayanganj, left five members of the same family severely burned in the early hours of Thursday.

The victims were rescued and rushed to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka. The incident was confirmed by Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, Resident Surgeon at the institute.

The injured have been identified as Manab Chowdhury, his wife Bacha, and their three children—Mouri, Munni, and Tinni. Among them, Manab sustained the most critical injuries, with 70 percent of his body burned. Bacha suffered burns on 45 percent of her body, while Mouri sustained 36 percent, Munni 28 percent, and Tinni 22 percent.
