Five Rohingyas tried to enter Bangladesh through Shah Porir dwip in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf in a boat around 5.00 pm Saturday (February 17).

According to the locals, one of the five Rohingyas in the boat was a woman and the other four were men. The BGB members have surrounded the boat. As a result, they stayed on the boat floating in the Naf River.

Locals also said that BGB members are trying to send them back.

Rubel, a local youth who went fishing at Shah Porir dwip, said, “We were fishing at the jetty. At that time a boat reached the jetty. A person is laid down in a boat. I heard that she is a Rohingya woman who was bullet-ridden. Later BGB reached there and surrounded the boat."

Abdus Salam, UP member of Ward No. 9 of Sabrang Union Parishad, said, "I heard that five Rohingyas have come from Myanmar in a boat crossing the Naf River. I came to know that one woman has been shot, but the BGB is not allowing them to enter.”

However, BGB has not released any statement yet.

Teknaf Upazila executive officer (UNO) Adnan Chowdhury said, "Due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar, the patrol of BGB and Coast Guard had to be increased. People living on the border have been asked to be alert."
