508 arrested, 50 cases filed in DMP's 24-hour operation

A total of 508 people have been arrested in Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) regular operations in the capital over the past 24 hours. At the same time, 50 cases have been filed on various charges.

DMP said that among the arrested, 33 were from the Ramna division, 48 from Lalbagh, 64 from Wari, 67 from Motijheel, 77 from Tejgaon, 135 from Mirpur, 43 from Gulshan, 33 from Uttara and 8 from the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, 36,649 pieces of Yaba, 32 kg 100 grams of cannabis, 10 purias of heroin and 8 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered.

In addition, two daggers, one knife, one vanity bag, 19 mobile phones, two gas lighters, two bottle caps, one battery-powered auto-rickshaw, one banner, 4 litres of petrol, 14 bamboo torches and one victim were recovered.

These operations were conducted in various police station areas of the capital, leading to the recovery of drugs and various evidence as well as the arrest of those concerned.

The process of taking further legal action against the arrested individuals is underway.
