Sarada Police Academy in Rajshahi has served show cause notices to 59 trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) for their disruptive behavior during training.

The notices were given out separately last Monday and Thursday for allegedly "arbitrarily sitting in class and causing chaos."

Confirming the matter, Police Academy Principal (Additional IGP) Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan said: "The notices have been issued as part of routine work. Such notices are issued in case of a breach of discipline, and this has been happening since the academy's inception. There is no politics issues."

"Their behavior violated the rules and regulations of Bangladesh Police Academy and they were asked to submit a written explanation within three days regarding why they should not be dismissed from the ongoing basic training, as per PRB Rules, 1943," mentioned the notice.

In total, 10 notices were issued on Monday, followed by 49 on Thursday.

The notice for the larger group detailed that during a class on 'Various Sections of Law' held on October 21, the trainees failed to maintain order, disrupted the lesson, and ignored instructions from their instructors.

Previously on October 8, the academy had expressed concern over the behavior of 252 trainee SIs, who were later released before completing their training.
