5-member committee formed to probe Sajek fire

The district administration has formed a five-member committee to investigate the source and cause of the terrible fire at Sajek tourist center in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati.

This information was given in a notification signed by Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah on Monday (February 24) night.

The notification said that an investigation committee has been formed into the terrible fire that broke out at Sajek tourist center in Baghaichhari upazila under Rangamati Hill District at around 1:15 pm on Monday.

The committee has appointed Md. Mobarak Hossain, Deputy Director of Local Government of Rangamati Hill District, as the convener and Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Akhter as the member secretary.

The remaining members of the committee are the Assistant Superintendent of Police (Baghachhari Circle) of Rangamati, Assistant Director of Rangamati Fire Service and Civil Defense Office and Assistant Engineer of Power Development Board (Dighinala).

The members of this committee have been instructed to investigate the source and cause of the fire and provide recommendations for preventing accidents within the next 7 days. The notification also mentioned that the committee can co-opt one or more members if necessary.
