6 arrested over attempted rape after holding husband in Feni

Police have arrested six people in connection with an alleged rape attempt on a woman after holding her husband in Dagonbhuiyan, Feni. They were arrested in separate drives on Friday night and Saturday morning, September 5.

The arrestees are: Rashed alias Raj (19) of Begumganj, Noakhali; Zakir Hossain (21) of Ramgati, Lakshmipur; Shahin Uddin Munna (29) of Sadar upazila, Feni; Delwar Hossain (24) of Sonagazi; Shahedul Islam Shahin (19) of Yakubpur union, Dagonbhuiyan; and Shahriar Noman (19) of North Karimpur.

Police said the victim filed a written complaint with Dagonbhuiyan Police Station on Friday, leading to a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Six individuals were named in the case, along with several unnamed others.

According to police, the arrests were made following directives from Feni Police Super Prutush Kumar Majumder, under the supervision of Dagonbhuiyan OC Muhammad Fayzul Azim Noman, led by SI Md Mobarak Hossain. All six accused named in the case were arrested.

Dagonbhuiyan OC Muhammad Fayzul Azim Noman said the six arrestees have been produced in court. Operations to arrest other suspects involved in the incident are ongoing.
