6 BNP men expelled in Sreepur over misconduct at school farewell event
Six BNP leaders and activists have been expelled for life in the incident of locking the school principal's room in Sreepur, Gazipur. Upazila BNP member secretary Khairul Kabir Mandal Azad confirmed this.
According to a press release signed by Sreepur Upazila BNP convener Abdul Motaleb and member secretary Khairul Kabir Mandal Azad, the expelled leaders and activists include former general secretary of Gazipur Union Ward No. 1 BNP Sarwar Awal, former organizing secretary Abdul Mannan Master and former joint secretary Hasmat Ali Hasu on Wednesday night (April 22). In addition, there are current members Arman Ali, Mahbub Alam and Rafiqul Islam.
Upazila BNP member secretary Khairul Kabir Mandal Azad said that the current government is working to maintain a normal educational environment. Locking a school there is very sad. 6 BNP leaders and activists have been expelled in this incident.
In this regard, Gazipur-3 constituency MP Professor Dr. SM Rafiqul Islam Bachchu said, "I ordered the union BNP to investigate the matter immediately after learning about the matter. I also announced that organizational action will be taken if the investigation proves guilty."
In this context, Gazipur Union BNP convener Enamul Haque Moni said, "We called an emergency meeting last Monday evening on the instructions of the MP. A resolution was sent to the upazila BNP to expel Sarwar Awal from the party.
It is worth noting that a farewell ceremony for SSC examinees was organized at Banshbari Adarsh High School in Gazipur Union of the upazila on Sunday morning. Eyewitnesses said that 10-15 leaders and activists led by Sarwar Awal and his brother Arman Ali attended the ceremony. After the program started, 10-15 people including former general secretary of Gazipur Union Ward No. 1 BNP Sarwar Awal and his brother Arman Ali, Abdul Mannan Master, and others arrived in force. They snatched the microphone from headmaster Sanwar Uddin and locked his room. The farewell program was disrupted due to this incident.
