6 more die of dengue

Six more people died of dengue in the 24 hours from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday. During the same period, 788 new patients were admitted to the hospital.

This information was given in a notification issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (November 19).

The notification said that out of the 788 patients admitted in one day, 87 were in Barisal, 108 in Chittagong, 130 in parts other than the City Corporation area of ​​Dhaka, 166 in Dhaka North City, 86 in Dhaka South City, 66 in Khulna, 54 in Mymensingh, 88 in Rajshahi and three new patients were admitted in Sylhet.

During this period, 973 patients across the country were discharged from hospitals after treatment. With this, the total number of patients discharged this year stands at 84,570.

The number of patients admitted to hospitals since January this year has reached 87,712. At the same time, the total number of deaths due to dengue has increased by 349.

From January to December last year (2024), 1,121,214 people were admitted to hospitals in the country due to dengue and 575 died. The previous year, 2023, 1,705 people died of dengue and 3,21,179 people were admitted to hospitals.
