6 more die of dengue in 24 hours, 2,158 hospitalised

Six more people have died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 2,158 people were admitted to hospital.

The information was provided in the regular dengue bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday, September 27.

According to DGHS data, the total number of dengue deaths in the current year has now reached 220. Of them, 43 died in August alone. Additionally, 128 dengue patients died in the first 26 days of September, 36 in July, 13 in June, one in May and two each in January and February.

The bulletin stated that 2,158 people were admitted to various hospitals across the country with dengue in the 24 hours from 8am on Saturday. With this, the number of patients admitted to hospital in the current year has reached 73,694. In the last 24 hours, 1,755 people were discharged from hospital after recovery. So far, 68,006 have recovered and returned home.

In the last 24 hours, the highest number of patients were admitted to hospital in Dhaka division, 664. Besides this, 329 were admitted in Khulna division, 227 in Barishal, 345 in Chattogram, 132 in Mymensingh, 73 in Rangpur and 176 in Rajshahi.
