6,000 yaba pills found in private car with Home Ministry sticker, 3 held
The Narcotics Control Department has detained three persons along with 6,000 yaba pills while smuggling yaba pills in a private car with Home Ministry sticker in Ramu of Cox's Bazar.
They were captured during a raid conducted in the Rubber Garden area of Joarinala Union in Ramu Upazila on the Cox's Bazar-Chattogram Highway around 10 am on Wednesday (July 15).

The detainees are--Sabbir Hossain, 36, of Chauddagram Upazila of Cumilla, Seema Islam, 22, of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj, and Urmi Akhter Usha, 18, of Darussalam area of Dhaka.
The Narcotics Control Department said that based on secret information, they learned that an organized gang had left for Dhaka from Cox's Bazar with a consignment of Yaba in a private car. Later, surveillance was started on vehicles heading towards Chattogram in the Ramu Rubber Garden area.
At one stage, the suspicious private car was signaled to stop, but the driver ignored it and tried to flee quickly. Later, the car was seized after a chase.
During the search, a sticker of the Ministry of Home Affairs was seen on the car. During interrogation, the people in the car claimed to be acquaintances of some officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, but the truth of that information could not be verified.
Later, the car was searched and 6,000 Yaba pills, which were hidden in a special way, were recovered.
The Narcotics Control Department said that a case has been filed against the three persons with Ramu Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
