63 foreign nationals detained in Chattogram police raid
Police detained 63 foreign nationals during a special operation at a multi-storey building in the Khulshi area of Chattogram city early Friday (September 11).
A joint team of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Unit and Khulshi police conducted the raid late Thursday night based on information about the presence of foreign nationals and suspected activities at the building.
More than 50 electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones, were seized during the operation, police said.
The detainees include nationals of China, Pakistan, Laos and Vietnam.
Abdur Rahim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khulshi Police Station, said, "63 people were detained and that authorities were verifying their identities and questioning them as part of the investigation."
Police have not yet disclosed further details about the nature of the suspected activities.
