63 lawyers granted bail after surrendering in Ctg court attack case

63 lawyers have been granted bail after surrendering in a case of attack and vandalism on the court premises in Chattogram.

They surrendered before the court of Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Hasan Shahriar of Chattogram on Monday morning.

Earlier, additional members of the army, BGB and police were deployed in the court premises since this morning to ensure security. At around 11:30 am, 65 lawyers surrendered to the court and applied for bail. The court granted bail after the hearing. Due to lack of space, many lawyers were seen standing outside during the hearing.

Lawyer Rajib Pal for the accused said that they applied to surrender in a case filed by Khan Alam, brother of deceased lawyer Saiful Islam. At the same time, he said that they will be able to continue their professional work in the court.
