673 appointed to various cadres through 27th BCS
The government has appointed 673 candidates to various cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) on the recommendation of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) in the first phase through the 27th BCS examination-2005.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (December 18).
The notification said that as per the recommendation of the letter sent by the PSC on November 5, 673 candidates have been appointed in the salary range of Tk22,000 to Tk53,060 according to the National Pay Scale-2015.
According to the conditions of appointment, the appointees will have to undergo basic training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) or any other training institution designated by the government. After completing the basic training, they will have to undergo professional and specialized training according to the type of job concerned. In addition, everyone will have to work as an apprentice for two years, which the government can extend up to a maximum of two years if necessary.
The condition further states that if an officer is considered unfit to continue in service during his apprenticeship, he can be removed from service without showing any reason and without consulting the PSC. He will be made permanent if he successfully completes all the prescribed training, passes the departmental examination and passes the apprenticeship period satisfactorily. An undertaking will have to be submitted to the concerned authority to participate in the training.
According to the notification, the recruits will have to execute a bond with a non-judicial stamp of Tk 300 along with a guarantor. The bond will mention that if he resigns from the service during the apprenticeship or within three years of the end of the apprenticeship, the entire amount spent by the government on training, including salary, allowances, travel allowances, advances, etc., will have to be returned.
In addition, if he is absent from duty before the resignation is accepted, the government will be paid as per the rules and disciplinary action will be taken as per the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.
To maintain the seniority of the appointees, the appointment order will be effective retroactively from the date of issuance of the first appointment notification of their batch. However, the notification states that they will not receive any outstanding financial benefits as a result.
