7 more die with measles symptoms, death toll rises to 915
Seven more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 1,031 children were infected with measles or measles-like symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services provided the updated information in a measles report on Monday afternoon.
The notification said seven more children died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. However, no child died from confirmed measles infection during this period.
Since March 15, a total of 816 children have died with measles symptoms across the country. An additional 99 children have died from confirmed measles infection. In total, 915 children have died from measles or measles-like symptoms during this period.
Additionally, 50 children were infected with confirmed measles, while 981 had measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours. During this time, 929 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 974 were discharged.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to date stands at 1,43,778, with 17,930 confirmed cases. A total of 1,25,386 patients have been hospitalised, of whom 1,20,913 have been discharged and returned home.
