The Bangladesh Coast Guard has rescued seven people, including women and children, from a house in the Dakshin Lambari area of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. The organization claims that the house was being used as a hideout for human traffickers.

They were rescued in a raid on Monday afternoon (March 30).

The Coast Guard said that the organized trafficking gang lured the seven people there by offering them a better lifestyle, high-paying jobs and low-cost travel abroad. Later, they planned to smuggle them to Malaysia by sea.

However, the Coast Guard said that the members of the trafficking team escaped before the raid.

The Coast Guard's media officer, Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam, confirmed the raid. He said that the rescued people have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station and the Coast Guard's operation to prevent human trafficking will continue.
