Police have rescued a seven-year-old child who was abducted from the capital's Kafrul area. A woman named Juthi Akhter (22) has been arrested in this connection.

Kafrul Thana Police said the child went missing on Thursday afternoon, September 3, while playing in the East Sheorapara area. After he did not return home for a long time, family members searched various places and later filed a general diary (GD) with Kafrul Police Station.

Following the GD, police reviewed CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas. The footage showed a woman in black clothing forcibly taking the child by the hand. The child's mother later filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Kafrul Police Station.

Police said the accused woman's location was identified through CCTV footage analysis and information from reliable sources. On Saturday afternoon, September 5, an operation was conducted in the Padma Bridge South Police Station area in Shariatpur, leading to Juthi Akhter's arrest. The child was also rescued during the same operation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md Akhter Hossain said the child was given primary treatment after being rescued and later handed over to the parents.
