8 children die with measles symptoms in 24 hours

Eight children have died from measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 798 children were infected with measles or its symptoms.

The Directorate General of Health Services released the updated measles report on Saturday afternoon.

The notification said eight more children died from measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 803 children have died from measles symptoms across the country, while an additional 99 children have died from confirmed measles infection.

In total, 902 children have died from measles and measles-related symptoms during this period. Additionally, 70 children were confirmed with measles in 24 hours, while 728 showed measles symptoms. During this time, 700 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 549 were discharged.

According to the DGHS, the total number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to date stands at 141,776, while confirmed measles cases number 17,800.
