8 million cubic feet of gas added to national grid
Gas well number 7 of Sylhet Gas Fields Limited was declared abandoned 30 years ago.
But the gas well was re-excavated this year and gas was found in two levels in the well.
As a result, the gas well was officially connected to the national transmission line at 3.30 pm on Monday (November 4). As a result, 8 million cubic feet of gas is being added to the national grid daily, according to the Gas field authorities.
Managing Director of Sylhet Gas Field Limited Md Mizanur Rahman told the media that Sylhet Gas Fields Limited has been supplying 130 million cubic feet of gas to the national grid. This time another 8 million cubic feet increased.
MD of Sylhet Gas Field Limited also said that Sylhet-7 well is Petrobangla's 15th gas field. Gas worth Tk 50 crore and condensate worth Tk 4 lakh will be extracted daily from the well.
