8 political parties to meet CA Yunus this evening
Top leaders from eight political parties and organizations are scheduled to hold a significant meeting this evening with Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, amid ongoing political uncertainty and increasing speculation over his possible resignation.
Political analysts believe the meeting could play a crucial role in shaping the country’s current political landscape.
The meeting is set to take place at the Chief Adviser's official residence and office in Jamuna. Participating parties include Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Gono Odhikar Parishad, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Khelafat Majlish, and Nezame Islami Party.
The agenda includes discussions on the framework of the interim government, the upcoming national elections, and proposals to prosecute individuals allegedly involved in authoritarian practices during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.
This meeting follows a similar discussion held on Saturday evening (May 24) between Professor Yunus and delegations from the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens’ Party (NCP). Observers view these back-to-back consultations as pivotal in shaping the future direction of the interim administration.
