8 soldiers injured as truck hits army patrol vehicle in Rajshahi

Eight members of the Bangladesh Army were injured early Tuesday morning when a truck collided with their patrol vehicle in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi district.

The incident occurred around 5:00 AM near Mohanpur Model Town. According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanpur Police Station, Ataur Rahman, the army patrol vehicle was rear-ended by a speeding truck, causing both vehicles to veer off the road and fall into a roadside ditch.

Among the injured, Sepoy Md. Jewel Rana sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The remaining seven soldiers received primary medical attention.

The truck driver has been taken into custody by military authorities, OC Ataur Rahman confirmed.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
