Law enforcement forces have recovered 826 arms looted from various places including police stations, police lines and police outposts. The police headquarters confirmed the matter through a message today (August 20). A total of 20,778 rounds of bullets, 1,482 tear gas shells and 71 sound grenades have been recovered as of monday (August 19), it said. Following attacks on law enforcement officers before and after August 5, a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition was looted from police stations and other secure areas. The Bangladesh Army has also been involved in efforts to recover the looted arms throughout the country.

সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে থানা, পুলিশ লাইন, পুলিশ ফাঁড়িসহ বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে লুট হওয়া ৮২৬টি অস্ত্র উদ্ধার করেছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী। সোমবার (১৯ আগস্ট) পর্যন্ত এ অস্ত্রগুলো উদ্ধার হয় বলে পুলিশ সদর দপ্তর এক বার্তায় জানিয়েছে। এ পর্যন্ত ২০ হাজার ৭৭৮ রাউন্ড গুলি, ১ হাজার ৪৮২টি টিয়ার শেল ও ৭১টি সাউন্ড গ্রেনেড উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। গত ৫ আগস্টের আগে ও পরে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর ওপর হামলা চালিয়ে থানা ও অন্যান্য সংরক্ষিত এলাকা থেকে বিপুল পরিমাণ অস্ত্র ও গোলাবারুদ লুট করা হয়। সারাদেশে লুট হওয়া অস্ত্র উদ্ধারে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর সদস্যরাও।
